The following is a visual representation of aspects of our plurality and how we personally experience being plural. Diagram created by The Plural Association.
Definitions:
Memory Sharing: Denotes the ability/ease of ability of sharing memories. The more bars, the less amnesia. For our system we rarely have issues with memory sharing (usually caused when our body is ill or when we become highly stressed). We sometimes misplace memories but that is generally a system-wide issue where no one can find the memory.
Co-operation: Denotes how well we work together as a team. The more bars, the more we work together. Our system strives to function together as a system and have spent over a decade building the needed trusted and cooperation.
System stability: Denotes the stability of our existence. The more bars, the less clinical distress we face. Our system doesn't widely fluctuate in members, who fronts regularly verses not, and so on.
Internal Communication: Denotes how we can internally communicate. The more bars, the more easily we can talk amongst each other. Years of work have lead to us having great internal communication.
Ability to switch: Denotes how easily we can switch and stay at the front. The more bars, the easier it is to switch. We sometimes have difficultly switching when people trying to switch in doesn't front often. People who front rarely have this issue unless our body is tired or unwell.
Co-consciousness: Denotes how well people can be aware of Front even when not at front. The more bars, the more consciousness we share. For us, even when not at Front, people can easily still be aware of what is going on wherever they are in our innerworld.
Elaboration: Denotes how much individuality (name, age, gender, opinions, sense of self, personal interests, and so on) each headmates has. The more bars, the more elaboration or individuality we have from each other. For our system, our individuality is very high. There is a lot of overlap in interests and hobbies such we don't all share the exact same intensity and whatnot for those interests and hobbies.
Overt: Denotes how visible our plurality is to others. The more bars, the more visible and overt our system is. A childhood and teenagehood of trying to hide our plurality from others has lead us to have a pretty solid singlet persona that people who front regularly often unconsciously or involuntarily adopt. Intentionally not downplaying our individuality and plurality while fronting is something we are slowly getting more comfortable at.
Pride: Denotes how much plural pride we hold. The more bars, the more pride we experience with our plurality. We are very proud of our plurality in that we are proud of what we have been able to build together in our working together. We're proud that we survived what life as thrown at us that has influenced our plurality. We're proud that we have not only accepted our plurality but embraced it as part of who we are.
Prophantasia: Denotes how easily it is for us to project ourselves on top of what our eyes are actually seeing. The more bars, the more easily we can visualize ourselves outside of our own body. For us, it is every easy for those that are fronting to "see" those who are projecting.
